“Within April we’ll indicate the area for the new dump and we’ll start procedures for Malagrotta’s closing”. That’s what Rome’s Mayor Gianni Alemanno announced yesterday, following the morning meeting with citizens of 15th and 16th district.
"I can also guarantee – the Mayor specified – that in this new area we won’t create a second Malagrotta, like the one that the former administration wanted to create. We are able to actuate an urban requalification too”. The turning point on this question – actually a highly burning one – has been marked, as the Mayor said, after a consultation with regional President Renata Polverini, who’d confided him the important news, that “within April we’ll have the indication for the new dump’s area, and it won’t be in Rome’s municipality”.
The Mayor then stressed out the fact that also another kind of garbage disposal plant will be built, in order to reduce to the minimum the amount of garbage accumulated every year in the dumps.
