The sad story of Alex Anfuso arrived yesterday night in the Italians houses through the television programme “Chi l’ha visto” (who saw him).
When he was 5 years old he disappeared leaving no trace. His first mother and than his appointed guardian went to Rebibbia prison for drug’s problems. At that time investigations didn’t bring to a track, to a name, there wasn’t an officially divorced father to pursue, the child had been officially recognize just by his mother, and then after weeks the story falls into silence. Now, after 17 years, we know the story directly by Aly Mohammed speech, this is his name know at Cairo. In fact, nothing was discovered at the time of investigations about the disappearance of the child Alex.
Alex tells how some men approached him in the street and scared him. They cut him his hair and forced him to do a long journey to Africa, far from his mother. A mother he has never forgotten, even though his life leads him to forget Italian and speak Arabic, in spite of thousands of difficulties and a life of misery.
Here he is now, at the age of 22. Just a few weeks ago, he connected to facebook and he tried to find his family in Italy. Still remembering his former surname he started to get in touch with all the Anfuso he found, until Pino Anfuso answered to his appeal. He isn’t a relative, but he is a camera operator who works at the Rai studios in Calabria, and he addressed him to the programme “Chi l’ha visto” of Federica Sciarelli.
Unfortunately the story doesn’t have the happy ending, because he will never find his mother who died without the joy of embracing him again.
